...With the rain coming down and the time change, it was very hard to let my honee go to work this morning...I did talk to him a bit ago and he made it fine throught he storms...he is currently working about an hour plus from the farm....not right around the corner...

 

Sat. was very productive for me...I tried dying some basketry reed in onion skins and came up with the most beautiful cranberry color... I wish my digital camera was working so I could take a picture... the basket I created with it was one of the better ones I have done....Must package it up and send it off to my mom for her birthday!  Inspired me to do another today since the wether is to stay a bit nasty....

 

I wish I could post a pic of the back woods... I love htis time of year... the first color splash are the daffodils and jonquils and sweet little paper whites...planted many years ago by the owners of my farmstead... I wonder who  gave THEm the bulbs to set...if she brought them from her mother's house...

 

The next splash of color are the redbuds..or Judas tree... the purple is always a welcome sight in the spring....there are TONS of little saplings dotting the woods and I would lOVE to ahve some closer to the house... Chris got rather nervous when I asked where the post hole diggers were... next weekends project...

 

The final splash are the dogwoods...and nature has painted our dogwoods so they are just a bit bigger then the line of redbuds and directly behind... I took my tea, toast and Bible out ther Sat. morning... didn't get alot read from looking at the beauty around me....

 

~~ Times like these I whisper " Nice colors God"...

 

Josh and Ang were here for homemade chili, homemade garlic cheese bread, and a big ole carrot cake.... Josh took the time to wash my car for me ( yes its raining today)...good visit with them...

 

Jeremy just called to check in during a hail storm down his way....

 

Looks like the bad stuff is moving in up here...clouds have rolled in again and I hear thunder....
